What sort of book is this? Primarily, this is a book for experienced electronic hobbyists, technicians, and students who want practical information on how to use linear integrated circuits.
Then, too, this is an idea book. There are well over 100 circuit diagrams for practical projects here. Each identifies all resistance, capacitance, inductance and supply voltage values needed to make it work. There is enough additional material in the text to permit the reader to make substitutions where substitutions are possible.
This is also a learning book. The reader who devotes sufficient attention will find that he comes away with a better ability to understand digital and linear IC projects he encounters in future reading. He will also be able to design simple projects on his own with confidence that he will be able to troubleshoot them and make them work.
Finally, this is a data book. It provides basic performance data and basing diagrams on almost fifty common and uncommon linear IC types.
