We, the followers of the Oromo Orthodox Christian Church and the members of Mana Kiristiaana Fayissaa Adunyyaa (MKFA), in coordination with four other sister Orthodox churches across North America, met earlier this week to discuss the holy and spiritual action taken by our Orthodox Church leaders in Ethiopia to ensure religious freedom and equal opportunities for Ethiopian including Oromos. After extensive discussions and deliberations, we have decided to support this action with everything at our disposal. We call upon all Oromo brothers and sisters of all faiths and religions and all Ethiopians who see the actions of our church leaders to save the church by respecting the values, norms, cultures and other assets of different nations and nationalities.

Therefore, all Oromos of all faiths, nations and nationalities, and friends of all faiths must support these courageous church leaders. This fundraising effort is set up to help heroic fathers and teachers of the faith as they embark on an arduous but important task to meet the righteous and age-old requests of tens of millions of church members. Be aware that their success and failure have profound consequences beyond the internal dynamics of the church.

We thank and appreciate each of you for supporting our church leaders with every means available as they go through this revolutionary process to save the church and secure the respect and dignity of our people.
