Why did Jesus have to die?

Because of Satan’s rebellion and those that followed him in the 1st earth age/eon. In that 1st age/eon, we were all, including Satan, created to be eternal/immortal, not temporary/mortal. Because God didn’t want to have to destroy those that rebelled, He came up with a plan where He created flesh humans (temporary) in the 2nd earth and heaven age/eon. This is all in response to what happened in the 1st age/eon.

*While here in these flesh bodies, that are not eternal, we must all make a decision whether or not we will follow God or follow Satan; that is the purpose of this 2nd age/eon. God created all humans to have a sin nature because of what happened in the 1st age/eon. He wants to know for sure who each one of us love, Him or Satan. Many have sought a purpose for this temporary flesh life, well there it is. What does sin do to us? See Isaiah 59:2 for your answer. Read the other verses around this one also.

*The question still remains; why did Jesus have to die? God wants to know who will choose to follow Him when we all know that this present flesh life is only temporary. This flesh life is purposely created to be temporary and difficult to hopefully point us in His direction. We face death each and every day in so many ways. Thus, He gives us the choice that each one of us must make. Eternal life or eternal death? If this flesh life was without evil, problems, difficulties, diseases, pandemics, etc., would anyone look for a way out? The answer is no! The following verse explains why.

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

{Just as God's children are human beings; Christ/God came in the flesh so He could die and break the power of the devil. (The one who held the power of death). (Isaiah 25:8, Hosea 13:14, I Corinthians 15:54-55, II Timothy 1:10; 1 John 3:8). Now death(the devil) has been defeated. He showed us that there is life after death of these flesh bodies. It can be eternal if we make the right choice}.

I borrowed the following words:

A good friend has said life has a 100% mortality rate. It is sad but true. As surely as you live, you will also die. It really is our own fault. We rebelled against God and invited the consequences of sin upon ourselves. The wages of sin are physical and eternal death. In many ways, death is our enemy. Death steals away our loved ones and ends any future dreams here on earth. Jesus came to defeat death. His empty tomb was evidence enough. Jesus was murdered on a cross and laid in a tomb. A heavy stone was placed in front of the tomb to block any entrance or escape, and Roman guards stood watch over the grave. The scene was set for God to do something amazing. On the original Resurrection Sunday, some women walked to the tomb to continue preparations for a proper burial of Jesus’ body, but there was no body in the tomb. Jesus had defeated death! The resurrection power of Jesus Christ offers hope to you and me. There is life beyond the grave for those who know Jesus. The Bible says those who believe in Jesus can know without doubt that we have eternal life (1 John 5:13). The good news keeps coming for God’s people, because hope extends beyond the grave. We all need resurrection power in other ways too. Broken relationships, disease and injury, and emotional struggles are only a sampling of peoples’ needs for resurrection power. God offers friendship and love to the lonely and brokenhearted. God provides peace for those who experience turmoil. God pays attention even to the birds of the air and the flowers of the field, and He loves you too. So, run into His compassionate arms and cry out to Him for salvation. What breaks your heart today? What parts of your life seem dead or dying? Give those to Jesus in prayer and ask for His resurrection power.
