*Due honor should be given the elderly.
Leviticus 19:32 Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. (hoary head means gray headed/senior citizen).
*God tells us to treat older men and women with respect.
1 Timothy5:1 Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
1 Timothy5:2 The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
*Older people should be valued for their experience.
Proverbs 20:29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
*The young can learn valuable lessons about life from the old.
Psalm 71:18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
*There is counsel from God for senior citizens.
Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Titus 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Titus 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Aging described below:
Ecclesiastes 12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
(Your arms and legs grow a little weak. Your teeth may be fewer and worn, making it harder to chew your food. Your eyesight grows worse. This is all part of aging. These flesh bodies wear out, get sick; they aren’t made to last forever. However, never give up, for there are far better things ahead).
Ecclesiastes 12:4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
(When you are older, you wake up earlier in the morning with the chirping of birds, but you get tired sooner and retire to bed earlier. Your can't hear as good as you used to).
Ecclesiastes 12:5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
(You become less stable and afraid of heights. When you get older your hair turns white, your body grows weaker, and your sexual desire fades away. You are much closer to your eternal home. You are closer to the end than the beginning of your human life).
Proverbs 16:31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
(A "hoary head" means "gray hair", but there is a qualification to this gray head of hair. "If" that man or woman with the gray hair follows the way or path of righteousness, God's ways, then it becomes a crown of glory. That senior citizen has experienced all the pit falls of life, and has made the choice to walk in the righteous path of Christ for him or herself. That gray headed person can share God's truths with others, perhaps by being just a good example).
