Description

It definitely seems backwards! It seems there is evil everywhere today, including elections (2020, 2022, etc.). We all wrestle with the difficult age-old questions, “Why do the wicked prosper?” and “Why do the righteous suffer?” It is especially hard when you have done right and you get penalized, while the person that did wrong got ahead. You were praying and counting on God’s promises, but things did not turn out the way you had expected. It seems as if God did not even hear your prayers. But the guy who scoffs at God is doing great or so it appears. You begin to wonder, “Why follow God when all I get are trials? If there is a God of justice in heaven, why doesn’t He do something about all the injustice in the world? Is it worth it to follow the Lord?”

Psalms 37:1 (KJV) "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, Neither be thou envious against workers of iniquity."

It seems like people always say that the bad and sinners always come out on top. Well, they don't; Father is telling you, "Don't worry, they will not come out on top." They will get everything that they deserve. God knows every evil act and word that they have done and said toward others; their evil deeds are recorded in heaven. There will be a day of accountability. Don't fret about those evil-doers for God is going to tell us what is going to happen to them; and what is going to happen to you in this Psalm.

Psalms 37:2 (KJV) "For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb."

Next time you mow the lawn, you can see how each blade of grass is cut down to conform to the rest of the blades of grass in your lawn. God has His way of taking that blade of grass (wicked person) that seems to get ahead, and cuts that person down to size. When you clip off that blade of grass and the hot sun hits those sheared off tops, they then whither away to nothing. That is exactly what will happen to the evildoers, even though for a period of time it appears that they get away with their evil acts.

Psalms 37:3 (KJV) "Trust in the Lord, and do good; So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."

When it appears that the evil doers are on top, this is your answer to the problem. Trust in the Lord and do good, stay focused on His Word. As you study the Word you will continue to be fed with the truth. That is what will bring the victory to you and cause you to prosper in your life. So what is the condition to have the prosperity? "Trust in the Lord, and do good." When you trust, or have faith in the Lord, He will feed you with the wisdom of His Word.

All of Psalm 37 speaks to us about this topic of “It seems the wicked prosper”. Just to let you know, the wicked do not prosper. Please study the entire 37th Psalm and see for yourself.

There is much written on this matter in God’s Word. God knows that many of us would have these thoughts; He knows our hearts. Please study and learn what the right response is to these types of thoughts; put your trust in God. He has a plan for you even though it may look otherwise; trust in His timing.

Remember, we get exactly what we ask for!

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

(You can't fool God. You will reap what you sow. Do good and good things will happen to you. Do evil and expect trouble coming your way. See Jeremiah 17:9-10 also).

Galatians 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

(If you only seek to please your flesh you will reap a harvest of spiritual decay and spiritual death. But, if you seek out and sincerely try to follow Christ's doctrine from the Word of God, then you will reap everlasting life. Feed your spirit, not your fleshly, sinful desires).

Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

(Do it as if you were working for the Lord, not for yourself or any other human. Try to please God in everything you do, not man).

Colossians 3:24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

(Your inheritance is eternal life in the end, when you serve Him. There is no greater reward).

Colossians 3:25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

(You reap what you sow; the Lord doesn't play favorites or discriminate; He is fair to all; you get exactly what you ask for).

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(We will all stand before Christ to be judged. He will judge us for the good or evil we have done in these earthly bodies). [Romans 6:12-13, 1 Peter 1:17, Revelation 20:12-13, 22:12].

Many will try and deny God even exists and judgment never happens. Does their denial make it true? No need to feel sorry for yourself when you get exactly what you asked for! You reap what you sow! Want visual proof? Watch the news sometimes.

Food for thought:

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them, that call evil good and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Just look around you today (2023+), people are doing exactly what this is talking about. They’re all confused about what is right and what is wrong; 180 degrees out. Be careful what you ask for, in other words, woe unto you)!
