Summary : Directly reports to project supervisor on site or project manager. Mason- Employee performs skilled masonry work, building, altering and repairing brick, stone, tile or ceramic structures and surfaces. Carpenter- Responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, listen, lift, carry, push and pull. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. The employee may be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures.

Responsibilities and Duties
Estimate height, width, length, and other proportions.
Select materials.
Work with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.
Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
Work on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.
Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.
Work with prefabricated buildings.
Build stairs, mantles, and furniture.
Install cabinets and molding.
Remodel businesses, parks, cabins etc.
Create structures for pouring concrete.
Erect scaffolding.
Build tunnel bracing.
Build concrete forms for tunnel or sewer construction project.
Replace panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors.
Repair or build furniture.
Install partitions, doors, and windows.
Move and install machinery.

Repairs, maintains and alters buildings, retaining walls and other brick or stone edifices.
Mixes mortar; lays bricks and stones and/or concrete sidewalks; makes and repairs steps.
Patches and/or replaces brick or stonework chimneys.
Installs and repairs tile floors and/or walls.
Reads blueprints.
Plasters ceilings and/or walls.
Estimates masonry jobs.
Does carpentry work incidental to masonry work.
Assigns work to a helper or apprentice.
Picks up requisitioned tools and materials from vendors. 

• Must be willing to work projects in the entire state of Ohio.• Performs all other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma (GED equivalent) and 7 years of Construction experience; or the equivalent education and experience. Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.

Drug Free Work Place- Must be able to pass a drug test.

Other - Driver's License required; OSHA 10 hour and 30 hour preferred.
