Description

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Health and Human Performance or related area. Develop and maintain a scholarly research agenda, mentor and guide undergraduate and graduate student research in an area of expertise, and seek external grants and contracts to support line of research. Having a planned research agenda in areas that align with the program's existing strengths is preferred; however, all areas of expertise will be considered. Existing strengths within the department include neuromuscular physiology, motor control of human movement, sport and exercise nutrition, nutritional supplementation, and aging. Provide service in the School, College, University and Community; participate actively in professional organizations; through teaching, research and service promote improvement in the lives of people in the community and state.  Other duties may be assigned by the School Head. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D./Ed.D. in Exercise Physiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a related field. Successful history of teaching in a higher education setting; strong evidence of research or other scholarly activity; and evidence of involvement in professional service. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with faculty experience, an existing research agenda, demonstrated ability to mentor students, demonstrated ability to seek external funds, ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs, and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which promote collegiality and collaboration. Applicants engaged in interdisciplinary work and who can foster scholarly connections among current department faculty and the university will be especially competitive. Applicants who are interested in helping to coordinate the undergraduate Applied Exercise Science major will also be competitive.
