WKDW Radio is currently seeking male actor to play the voice of lead character Nick Messina in it's 4th season of circus themed radio drama When the Music Stops. Audition date to be announced. Please submit resume or just a brief bio of yourself and your acting experience.
Nick is a daredevil turned lawyer turned daredevil (not of the superhero kind) in his late 20's, however since it is radio, it doesn't matter your age as long as you sound 28ish. Nick is also the narrator, so voice and diction must be clear. Recordings will take place Saturdays 1-3pm at WKDW Radio or Common Grounds Meeting Hall (next door) in North Port, FL. Please make sure you can commit to at least 2 hours on Saturdays for 1-2 months. Target date for recording is June depending on how quickly the lead is filled. Depending on everyone's preparation (no need to memorize lines - just have some concept of the story line and characters), we can typically crank out 3-4 episodes in one 2 hour recording session. A season tends to run anywhere from 13-16 episodes.
Seasons 1 and 2 are archived on the radio site, along with a Season 3 preview, which will begin airing this summer. It would behoove you to listen to at least the previews of each season and perhaps read the show descriptions to better prepare for the role www.kdwradio.com/category/when-the-music-stops. Actor is responsible for providing his own script at recordings (either on electronic device - preferably tablet as sometimes mobile phones cause interference, or printed script - just be wary of page turning during production). Please contact me for further info on audition date and for a script. Thanks. Break a leg!
