This exquisite formal dining room table. Was purchased at the Upscale Fosters Furniture in Tacoma, Washington at a cost of over $5,000.00 in 2011. It is a “Live” edge Chilean Cherry Wood (a.k.a. Fireland Cherry) Table Top resting on a Black Lacquered Open Square Base with Four Chrome Finished Steal Supports.
Fireland cherry, as it is commercially known, is grown in cold, mountainous terrain. The forests in Chile fall under rigid government control, a measured to ensure the sustainability and continuance of such environmental treasures.
The table is particularly striking. The thick, solid top has a beautiful, smooth finish, with the edge showing the natural contours of the tree edge. On the dining table this is contrasted by the dark, rectangle base
