Job Description

The BRAND NEW Hyatt Place Ocean City/Oceanfront, MD is looking for a General Manager. This new property is located directly on the beach and is a perfect opportunity for the right person. So, if you are looking to live at the beach this is the position for you.

Major Responsiblities:

•Oversee all hotel operations •Manage and lead the department managers •Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards. •Handling complaints, and implement service recovery procedures. •Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget. •Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, while ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded. •Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long term strategic goals for the property. •Develop improvement actions, while achieving costs savings. •A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies •Closely monitor the hotels business reports on a daily basis and make appropriate decisions •Ensure that monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate. •Maximize room yield and hotels / resort revenue through innovative sales practices and revenue management programs. •Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment, and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services. •Act as a final decision maker in hiring decisions. •Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads on a daily basis. •Manage and develop the team to ensure career progression and development. •Provide effective leadership to hotel team members. •Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved. •Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required. •Responsible for being in compliance with all governmental regulations and codes.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned hotel professional with outstanding, leadership skills and hands-on management experience. At least 5 years’ successful management experience at an upscale limited or full service hotel. Brand experience preferred.
