Job Summary

The Sarasota Modern is looking for an experienced  Director of Sales and Marketing to lead their sales effort.   The Sarasota Modern Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel that opening in 2018 in beautful Sasasota!

The Director of Sales will be responsible for the development and implementation of the total sales effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following-

  •  Preferred minimum 3+ years of Director of Sales and Marketing experience
  • Preferred Marriott,  luxury, and or boutique hotel background
  • Proven success record as a leader successfully heading up the Sales & Marketing discipline for the hotel and motivating the hotel team
  • Knowledge of key sales & marketing tools & strategies – Hotelligence, Demand 360, STR, Readerboard, Sales Pro/Delphi systems
  • Revenue Management knowledge strategic oversight
  • Ability to create a proactive and positive sales environment and identify need periods, create initiatives to achieve results, and create a stabile sales environment
  • Maintain customer database via Hotel Sales Pro sale system
  • Preferred knowledge of the market and demand generators
  • Maintaining rapport and developing future business with existing contacts
  • Developing an annual Marketing Plan and executing throughout the year
  • Ability to execute outside sales calls in the market and attain monthly activity goals and targeting extended stay, Group, and Business Transient Travel
  • Ability to oversee e-commerce, social media, and marketing initiatives to drive revenue for room and outlets
  • Ability to network in the community on a regular basis to develop relationships with local customers
  • Ability to gain trust and credibility quickly with the goal of establishing a true partnership with the General Manager

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Hotel Sales Pro preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Display initiative, perseverance and analytical skills
  • Effective communication
  • Professional and ethical
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Team player and ability to get along with others
  • Available to meet guests which may include weekends
  • Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
