Come join the staff at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) and become a part of Oklahoma's premier research university. The OUHSC campus in Oklahoma City has an opening for a full-time Laboratory Technician.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join a collaborative and multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists focused on newborn health and disease research. The candidate will contribute to projects investigating pulmonary developmental disorders. The candidate will utilize and document cell, molecular and physiological approaches, (i.e. cell culture, cell-based assays, immunohistochemistry, Western blots, ELISAs, nucleic acid & protein isolation and detection, and rodent experiments) to generate and analyze data, as well as perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned. The candidate will NOT be required to work with patients or in a clinical setting. Don’t worry if you don’t know these techniques, we will teach you! We are looking for someone who WANTS to learn and can work within a group setting.
Familiarity with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred. Must be willing to work with rodents (mainly mice) after proper training.
Requirements: Associate's Degree in a Biological or Physical Science - no experience required. We will provide all the required training.
Salary: Up to $15.86 per hour, based on experience
