Goodman Eye Care, is a family eye care clinic providing a wide range of eye care services ranging from pediatric, geriatric, contact lens, glasses, to the treatment of eye disease, care for the partially sighted, and persons with disabilities who may be difficut to exam. We coordinate care with multiple surgical practices, opticians, ophthalmologists, and general physicians.
Responsibilities: answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, billing insurance for optical products, posting fees and payments, managing incoming referrals, assisting with frame and lens selection, matching the appropriate lenses and frames for each person. Performing frame adjustments and repairs, ordering and dispensing glasses and contact lenses. Cleaning and maintaining the office.
Minimum knowledge/skills required: Computer experience in a MS Windows environment; keyboarding skills.
Experience: We can teach you what you need to know, if you have the flexibility to learn quickly.
To succeed in this position: You must be able to multitask. What we need is a person who is a quick learner, can adapt to new situations, overcome experience gaps, improvise.
Hours: Full or part time; depends on the applicant. We are open 9 AM to 5 PM Monday thru Friday (off weekends and national holidays). Current employees work between 20 to 32 hours per week because they take a day off during the week. You would be expected to open and/or close the clinic on days agreed upon.
Compensation is hourly wage, salary depend on the employee's level of experience. Bonus reward is based on proficiency and competency, insurance and retirement benefits are not offered for this position.
