Bruichladdich's Black Art series has long been seen as one of the standout releases from this popular Islay distillery. Using an undisclosed combination of casks, these whiskies have offered a multitude of aromas and taste sensations, with only the head distiller, laterly Adam Hannet, knowing the make up of the whisky. We're excited to have the 7th edition available to purchase right now!
This 25 year old single malt has it's origins back in 1994, the year the distillery was mothballed, so this whisky really is nod to the past and a look to the future.
Nose - Depth and complexity. The first nose of these whiskies is always an experience! Aromas of rich marzipan, almond and walnut, Caramel, rose hip and hints of strawberry and coconut. A dominant fruit presence evolves with plum, pears, raisin and grapefruit. Time adds further wood spice, nutmeg, oak, roasted coffee and sugar.
Palate -Silky texture covers the palate, giving a viscous, full mouth-feel. There's a slight oaky dryness which is balanced by coconut, turkish delight, caramel and seville orange. The whisky elements melt into one another, there is a real balance and texture with this whisky
Finish - Textured and very long. This whisky lingers on the palate. Nuttiness and sweetness round off another exceptional Black Art release.
