It's hard to believe that it has been seven years since I turned 21. So much has happened in that time! Here are some of the things that have changed since I became a legal adult.
Social Media
When I turned 21, Facebook was only a year old and MySpace was still the most popular social media platform. Now, there are dozens of different social media sites and apps with millions of users. Social media has completely changed the way we communicate and connect with each other. We can now stay in touch with our friends and family members who live all over the world with just a few clicks.
Smartphones
Seven years ago, smartphones were still a relatively new technology, and they were only used by a small minority of people.
Nowadays, it's hard to find someone who doesn't own a smartphone. These devices have completely revolutionized the way we live our lives. We can now access the internet, check our email, book tickets, and do our shopping from anywhere at any time.
The Economy
When I turned 21 years old, the world was in the midst of a global financial crisis. Now, the economy is slowly recovering, but there are still many challenges ahead.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in mass unemployment, and businesses are struggling to stay afloat. It's been a tough few years, but hopefully, things will start to improve soon.
Conclusion
A lot can change in seven years! When I turned 21, Facebook was only a year old, and smartphones were still a new technology.
Nowadays, social media is an integral part of our lives, and smartphones are ubiquitous. The economy has also changed dramatically in the past seven years.
We're slowly recovering from the global financial crisis, but we've been dealt another blow with the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's hoping that things start to look up soon!
