Our restaurant is located in Granville Island, Vancouver and fully serves a wide range of daily a la carte menus with a wide range of breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and casual lounge sections. We have assembled an amazing team of kitchen and service staff, and we are now looking for an experienced full-time Pastry maker position.
Employer: Dockside Brewing Company Ltd. (o/a Dockside Restaurant)
Position: Pastry maker
Open position: 2
-Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
-Bake mixed doughs and batters
-develop, refine and record, pastry recipes.
-Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods
-Ensure the quality of products meets established standards
-Draw up a production schedule to determine the type and quantity of goods produced
-Purchase baking supplies
-Operate machinery and adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
-Clean and restock workstations and ensure that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
Education: Completion of Secondary School is required.
Completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program for bakers or completion of a college or other program for bakers will be advantageous.
Experience: 2+ years of commercial baking experience is required.
Wage: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour with 40 hours a week.
