The Linden School is seeking a Full-Time Physical and Health Educator for middle and high school students.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet the Standards of Practice for the teaching profession in Ontario.

Plan and implement a vibrant and inclusive physical and progressive health education programme, founded on principles of healthy movement, bodily autonomy, and consent.

Focus on cardiovascular training and strength-based exercises health classes that exceed curriculum expectations.

Take a holistic approach towards strengthening a student’s body, mind, and soul is integral to the creation of a strong, confident, and healthy body and mind.

Coach one after-school sport per term.

Provide in-person instruction to support hybrid learning, with the flexibility to switch to online instruction if / when requested.

Provide regular assessment to ensure students demonstrate proficiency for their grade level.

Prepare report cards and conduct parent-teacher interviews.

Develop program and classroom setup, including curriculum, materials, and equipment.

Collaborate with Linden faculty and other educational institutions as part of program development activities.

Work with the Admissions and Marketing team to support admission inquiries/recruitment.

Create and maintain a warm and nurturing learning environment for all students in the program.

Attend faculty and mentorship meetings as required.

Work with staff, supervisors, and board committee members to establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

A member of Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent experience.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a 12-month contract with possibility for renewal.

Annual salary commensurate with work experience.

Salary: $50,186.32 - $95,127.92 per year
