QG Meat Ltd. is a prominent meat supplier in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). With over 15 years of expertise in the wholesale meat industry, catering to both supermarkets and restaurant chains, we are expanding our operations and seeking to hire two full-time Wholesale Butchers.

Position Title: Butcher-wholesale

Position Type: Full-time Permanent

Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: $20.00-22.00 per hour

Number of vacancies: 2

Availability: as soon as possible

Work location: 120 Dynamic Drive, Unit 36, Toronto, ON M1V 5C8

Personal Suitability:

Ability to work safely with sharp tools, ability to stand for extended periods, ability to work in low temperatures; must have strong manual skills.

Job Duties:

• Cut, trim and prepare custom and standard cuts of meat
• Remove bones from meat
• Cut poultry into parts
• Weigh, wrap and package fresh or frozen or prepared meats and poultry
• Prepare meat for delivery
• Manage inventory, keep records and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirement
• Ensure food storage conditions are adequate
• Regularly clean the counters to reduce the risk of food contamination and adhere to food safety guidelines
• Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safety

Qualifications:

• Secondary (High) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• butcher/knife experience
• Experience in meat processing or food handling and/or storage is an asset
• Ability to stand and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Self-motivation with positive attitude
• Excellent hand-eye coordination skills
• Available to work with a flexible schedule including after hours and/or weekends if needed.
