Fitter Welder

Pay: $24-$32/hr.

Weekends: 6:00am-6:00pm Friday-Sunday and some weekdays
Weekends: 6:00pm-6:00am Friday-Sunday and some weekdays
Weekdays: 6:00am-6:00pm 1 day off during the week
Weekdays: 6:00pm-6:00am 1 day off during the week

Job Description: 

We are seeking skilled Class 1 Fitters who prioritize safety while demonstrating exceptional productivity and expertise in cutting, fitting, and tack welding various components of heat exchangers, vessels, and towers. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years' experience fitting pressure vessels or heat exchangers, along with a minimum of 3 years' experience with Sub-Arc. Proficiency in fitting metal components to meet established standards and codes in the assembly and manufacturing of pressure vessels and heat exchangers is essential. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in thermal cutting and welding processes are required, as well as the ability to interpret AutoCAD prints accurately for specifications and dimensions. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in operating oxy/fuel cutting torches and Plas-Arc machines, along with the ability to tack weld per code and within weld procedure requirements. Strong mathematical skills and a solid understanding of geometry are necessary. We value self-motivated leaders who can work with minimal supervision, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on schedule. Collaboration is key, and the ability to work effectively within a team to achieve company objectives is essential. A strong sense of pride in workmanship, punctuality, and dependability are crucial attributes. Flexibility to work outside standard hours to meet project deadlines is required, along with a commitment to maintaining a fit-up rejection rate of less than 5%.

Physical Requirements:

This position will be exposed to welding fumes and gases, and dust from grinder: use of PPE imperative. Work area is not climate controlled so extreme heat/cold may be experienced.

•Ability to work in a shop environment in all seasons
•Ability to safely enter and work productively in confined spaces of an exchanger or vessel
•Ability to safely tie off and work from elevated heights on top of exchanger or vessel
