A Web Designer is responsible for creating the design and layout of a website or web pages. Unlike web developers, who specialize in creating new website structuresand the code that forms these, web designers tend to focus on the visual aspects of a site, such as its layout and its usability.As a Web Designer, you could work in-house, where you’ll work on projects for your employer, or freelance when you take on projects for several clients. In both scenarios, there can be pressure to meet deadlines and you may need to work extra hours.

A UI Designer needs to be consistent in their designs above all. They need to pay great attention to detail to bring the design to life in line with what is required in the original concepts. They need to work in concert with the UX Designer (User Experience) to ensure their interactions feel as good as they look.

Key responsibilities of a UI/UX designer:

• Research to understand user behaviors, needs, and preferences through methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Create wireframes, which are low-fidelity representations of the interface, to plan and structure the layout and functionality of the digital product.
• Develop interactive prototypes to simulate user interactions and test the user flow and usability of the design.
• Create visually appealing designs, including color schemes, typography, icons, and imagery, that align with the brand identity and enhance the user experience.
•  Organize and structure the content and navigation of the interface to ensure easy access to information and smooth user journeys.
• Define the interactive elements and behaviors within the interface, such as buttons, menus, and animations, to provide intuitive and engaging user interactions.
• Conduct usability tests to gather user feedback and identify improvement areas in the interface design.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to ensure the design vision is effectively implemented and aligns with project goals.
• Continuously iterate and improve the design based on user feedback, data analysis, and evolving project requirements.
• Stay abreast of the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices in the field of UI/UX design to continuously enhance skills and deliver innovative design solutions.
