The construction of the Qutub Minar began in 1192 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the founder of the Delhi Sultanate, and was completed by his successor Iltutmish. It was built as a symbol of victory to celebrate the Muslim dominance in Delhi after defeating the last Hindu kingdom.

The Qutub Minar is a stunning example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Standing at a height of around 73 meters (240 feet), it's a five-story tower with intricate carvings and verses from the Quran inscribed on its walls. The tower is made of red sandstone and marble and features balconies projecting outwards.
