Nu-Vue Exteriors Ltd. is looking for full time Rough Carpenter at 7-1121 12th Street, Kamloops BC V2B 8A7 Canada. There is 1 position available.

Main duties are as follows but not limited to:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
• Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
• May prepare cost estimates for clients.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials and good understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Familiarity with power tools and hand tools
• Good understanding of basic math with the ability to read measuring tape and do simple addition/ subtractions or fractions
• Perform physically demanding tasks including bending, stooping, and carry objects up to 45lbs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate good organization
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Time management and scheduling skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be a team player

Hours of work are 40 hours per week at $29/hour (overtime pay after 40 hours). Successful candidates must speak English and have completed secondary school. Minimum work experience is 2 years hands-on experience.
