Description

Scripture About Hate & Evil

The Bible speaks about two kinds of hate: a Godly hatred of evil and sin, and a sinful hatred of people, which is forbidden and considered a form of spiritual murder. Believers are commanded to "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you", to put away "bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking... with all malice", and to "hate evil" in their hearts instead.

A heart issue with deadly consequences:

Hatred is seen as a deep heart issue, with 1 John 3:15 stating that anyone who hates his brother is a murderer.

Acceptable Hatred (Godly Hatred of Evil)

  • Hate evil: The Bible encourages believers to "hate evil".
  • Hate sin: Just as God hates sin, believers should also grow to hate hypocrisy, godlessness, and wicked deeds.
  • A sign of right standing with God: Loving God involves hating the things that are contrary to His character and will.
  • We must learn to live in this world, without the hatred that we see each day. The premeditated murder of God’s Children, simply because they think, speak about the differences we face, to solve the problems we must overcome to remain a ‘Free Country’, living our lives as we choose, and not being told how to live by anybody!
  • We are all different in our skin color, our ancestorial origins, our outer looks, how we feel about different things, our religious beliefs and most important what we want in life! Everyone’s ‘Wants’ are different, meaning we also must learn to work out problems with compromise, not everyone gets everything they want, and that is how our government works, for all the people and not just the few! Let us bring Jesus Christ into our lives and through Him, His Gospel of The New Testament bringing Love into the world and rejecting The Old Testament, of reprisal, ‘An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, refers to the principle of retribution, where punishment is proportional to the offense.
