'Robin Hood ‘The Folklore Legend’
As so many of us living in the United States had Ancestors that migrated from England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland I think we need to bring back the memories of Folklore, Robin hood. Robin Hood who was depicted as a man in Folklore, who took from the Rich and gave to the poor in need! He was also described in Folklore, as a Countryman, standing up for his King and the country and home that he loved England!
One certain fact is that he would have been a North Country man, with his traditional haunts as an outlaw in Sherwood Forest and a coastal refuge at Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire.
Robin Hood is a legendary heroic outlaw originally depicted in English folklore and later featured in literature, theatre, and cinema. What the Legend of Robin Hood displayed most was his love of his compatriots and the love of his country that was not doing too well!
The thought in that era of history of helping the mistreated poor of the country, who were abused by the heavy toll of taxes thrust upon them was a very ‘Nobel Idea’ for any brave person who would step up to the task!
Robin Hood an incredibly beautiful legend of love for his friends, Englishmen & Women and England his beloved country!
