Dear Salvatore,
In the parable of the Labourers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1–16), Jesus reveals a truth that defies human logic: it is never too late to be called, never too late to respond and never too late to find meaning in Him.
The landowner — an image of our relentless God — doesn’t wait for workers to come to Him. He goes out again and again, even at the eleventh hour, seeking those who stand idle, hoping to be seen.
What a promise for our hearts: God never stops seeking us.
This week’s reflection:
- God sees us, His Children, even when we feel forgotten. He values us and desires our participation in His mission.
- God’s ways are not about merit alone; they are about mercy. He gives His kingdom freely to those who respond, whether early or late.
Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, thank you for seeking me again and again. Even when I feel late or lost, You call me with love.
Help me answer that call — not with fear or comparison, but with faith. May I find meaning and joy in Your vineyard and rejoice that Your mercy is greater than merit.
Amen.
Sincerely in the Sacred Heart,
Fr. Dominic, SCJ
