This 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300 Cabriolet D is a beatiful driver wearing an older restoration. White with black leather. 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors, mated to a column-shifted four-speed manual gearbox. At the time, the 300 Cabriolet D was among the most expensive and luxurious cars available on the German market. Furthermore, the Cabriolet D was one of the rarest body-styles to grace a Mercedes-Benz chassis. Its convertible sedan setup was typically reserved for heads of state and board members. Fast and elegant, it was one of very few contemporary vehicles capable of carrying six passengers in comfort at sustained high speeds. It was the car of choice among West German government officials, and throughout Europe and the USA was widely favored by businessmen, financiers and politicians. Indeed, 'Adenauer' became the 300 saloon/limousine's unofficial model name, after German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, its most famous customer.
