Job Description:

Load, unload and transport construction materials

Perform pre-operational inspection

Instruct apprentices

Perform routine maintenance work

Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction

Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Operate and control concrete pump equipment to place concrete at construction sites

Set up, assemble and dismantle concrete pump systems, hoses and pipelines safely and efficiently

Communicate with contractors, finishers and site supervisors to coordinate concrete placement operations

Monitor concrete flow and equipment performance during pumping operations

Clean concrete pump equipment, pipelines and hoses after each job

Complete daily equipment inspections, maintenance logs and safety documentation

Follow company safety procedures, job site regulations and Alberta OH&S requirements

Drive and maneuver concrete pump trucks to and from construction sites

Requirements

Education: Some secondary education is required

Experience: At least 7 months of experience in the trade is required.

Driver’s license Class 3 with Q endorsement is required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Tight deadlines, Manual dexterity, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, Sound discrimination, Work outdoors in various weather conditions, Overtime is required.

Salary: $28.00 hourly, 30 – 60 hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The regular work schedule is from Monday to Saturday, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. depending on customer and construction project requirements. Overtime, work on weekends, and occasional holiday work may be required depending on the business needs. Work may involve early morning start times, extended shifts, and on-call availability based on weather conditions, concrete supply schedules, and project deadlines.
