Job Description
An Injection's Quality Engineer The technical authority on process stability and part integrity is the molding facility. Your main goal is to use Scientific Moulding principles to ensure that plastic components satisfy strict dimensional, functional, and aesthetic requirements. You will act as a liaison between the customer and production, overseeing quality from "pellet to part." An analytical specialist with knowledge of mold mechanics, polymer behavior, and the statistical tools needed to sustain a validated process window would be the ideal applicant.
Responsibilities
Process Validation and Monitoring: Ensure that the validated process window is rigorously followed by production.
Dimensional Metrology: Manage precise measurements with CMM, VMM, and special gauges to confirm part dimensions in accordance with GD&T specifications.
Defect Analysis & Troubleshooting: Determine and classify molding flaws, such as jetting, warping, sink marks, or silver streaks, and conduct root-cause studies.
NPI & PPAP Execution: Take charge of the New Product Introduction's quality component, which includes creating Control Plans, PFMEAs, and comprehensive PPAP documentation.
Non-Conforming Material: Oversee the Material Review Board procedure to determine how rejected lots should be handled.
Gauge R&R: Analyze measurement systems to make sure that operators and inspection tools deliver accurate, consistent data.
Customer Liaison: Lead 8D investigations, provide expert counter-measure reports, and serve as the main point of contact for customer quality problems.
Skills:
Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of polymer rheology (flow behavior) and the injection molding cycle.
Blueprint Reading: The ability to decipher intricate engineering blueprints by mastering GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Quality Tools: Mastery of the 7 QC Tools and the Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
Knowledge of Materials: Being aware of how different resins shrink and absorb moisture
