Job Description:

• Monitoring chickens’ health
• Feed and tend chickens
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
• Clean barns and barnyards
• Detect disease and health problems in poultry
• Examine product for quality and prepare for market
• Write daily basic progress reports
• Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns and chicken coops
• Collect and sanitize hatching eggs
• Sorting and picking eggs.
• Barn walking, cleaning, looking after litter conditions

Requirements:

-Education: Not required

-Experience is an asset / On-the-job training will be provided

-Worker must be able to sit / bend and stand for extended periods, lift up to 40-60 pounds.

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Large workload, Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching and kneeling, Standing for extended periods of time.

-Personal suitability: Team player, Organized

-Work site environment: Noisy, Outdoors, Dusty, Odours.

-Language: Basic level of English is required.

Salary: $18.00 hourly, 40-60 hours per week.

Benefits: Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. The employer will provide transportation to and from the housing to the work location, when necessary.

Important Information: Work shifts will be from 7 am to 5 pm. Weekend work and overtime might be required. One 30-minute lunch break (unpaid) and two 15 minutes healthy breaks (paid).
