Job Description
Responsibilities
Follow up with payers via phone, email, fax, or websites to guarantee prompt resolution of all pending claims.
meets and upholds the daily quality and productivity benchmarks set forth in departmental policies.
uses the client host system, workflow system, and other resources at their disposal to settle accounts and collect money.
respects the rules and guidelines set forth for the customer or team.
Knowledge of timely filing deadlines for each specified payer.
When necessary, does research on payer-specific billing criteria.
Capacity to examine, pinpoint, and address problems that are delaying payer payments.
Capacity to proactively lower denials by analyzing, identifying, and trending claims concerns.
Communicates to management any issues and/or trends found.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of medical billing and payer-specific guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with payers and internal teams.
- Proficient in using claims processing software and workflow systems.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and trends in claims processing.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in a healthcare billing or claims resolution role is preferred.
