DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

This position leads efforts to improve processes, strengthen quality, and guide strategic planning across the Bureau. It supports teams by evaluating workflows, coordinating improvement projects, and helping staff use proven methods to achieve results. As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

  • Program Leadership: Manage the bureau’s continuous improvement program and apply lean methods to strengthen operations
  • Process Evaluation: Identify areas for improvement and recommend updates that support efficiency and cost savings
  • Team Guidance: Lead workgroups that address process issues and help employees apply improvement strategies
  • Project Tracking: Monitor progress, assess risks, and provide updates that support strong decision making
  • Quality Oversight: Coordinate quality initiatives and review data to identify trends and corrective actions
  • Policy Support: Review proposed procedures and provide direction to ensure documentation is accurate and compliant

 

Note: This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least one year of experience within the Printing Manufacturing Industry.
  • You  must have at least one year of experience leading process improvement initiatives within the Print Industry.
  • You must have at least one year of experience developing and maintaining Quality Control standards within the Print Industry.
  • You must have at least one year of experience with Data Analytic tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • You must have at least one year of experience facilitating and organizing workgroup sessions to resolve department level issues.
  • You must have at least one year of experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing standard operating procedures.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
