Senior Bridge Engineer - Cleveland, OH - JOB 26-00577

Salary Range: $160,000 - $215,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
 
In this key leadership role, you will guide a growing bridge design team through complex project delivery, shape the direction of the regional practice, and mentor the next generation of engineers. Positioned at the intersection of technical design and team management, you will drive project strategy, enhance client relationships, manage resource planning, and support high-profile pursuits that expand our presence across the region.
 
Responsibilities

  • Manage complex bridge engineering projects predominantly in Ohio, ensuring high-quality design, safety, and timely delivery.
  • Direct and mentor in-office and remote structural engineering staff, conducting plan reviews, setting performance goals, and supporting professional growth.
  • Perform structural analysis, design calculations, engineering drawings, and structural details for major bridge projects.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain engineering budgets, project scopes, and schedules, particularly for Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) pursuits.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, sub-consultants, and permitting agencies; assist with client presentations, proposal preparation, and business development strategies.
  • Coordinate design reviews, submittals, and agency permitting processes while maintaining strict alignment with technical standards.

 
Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (BSCE / BSSE).
  • Active Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio is required; Structural Engineer (SE) license is a major plus.
  • 15+ years of progressive bridge design engineering experience, including a strong track record of project management and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated working relationships with ODOT and local Ohio municipalities, with a deep understanding of ODOT practices, procedures, and design standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard engineering principles and codes, including AASHTO and AREMA standards.
  • Active participation in local engineering societies and professional organizations.
  • Required: AASHTOWare and BrR.
  • Preferred: LEAP Concrete/Bridge, CSI Bridge, MIDAS Civil, AutoDesk, and Bentley MicroStation (including OpenRoads and OpenBridge Designer).
