Structural Designer - Cleveland, OH - JOB 26-00574

Pay Range: $25.00 - $40.00/HR Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
 
A leading Cleveland, Ohio engineering firm is recruiting a detail-oriented Structural Designer. In this role, you will translate structural engineering designs into precise 2D technical construction drawings and 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) models. Collaborating closely with structural engineers, architects, and construction teams, you will ensure project deliverables comply with company standards, local building codes, and client specifications.
 
Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural construction documents and 3D BIM models for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Generate accurate foundation plans, framing plans, sections, elevations, and structural connection details.
• Cross-coordinate BIM models with architectural, MEP, and civil engineering disciplines to identify and resolve spatial clashes.
• Update technical drawings efficiently based on engineering markups, redlines, and field modifications.
• Ensure all project drawings adhere to industry standards, local building codes, and internal CAD/BIM protocols.
• Assist in organizing digital archives, managing drawing sheets, and participating in design coordination meetings.

 
Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting & Design, Civil/Structural Engineering Technology, or equivalent technical certification.
• 2–5 years of structural drafting experience within a professional engineering or architectural firm.
• Advanced, hands-on experience in Autodesk Revit Structure and AutoCAD (required).
• Solid understanding of structural drafting standards, architectural symbols, and materials (structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber).
• Exceptional spatial accuracy, strong problem-solving skills to spot design conflicts, and clear communication abilities for team collaboration.
