Job Title: CAD Drafter
Pay Rate: $25–$35/hour (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (hours may vary based on workload)

Primary Function

Responsible for creating detailed fabrication drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Generate detailed shop fabrication drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers
• Complete Code Data Reports for each exchanger
• Perform basic design for select non-code components not handled by the Product Designer
• Finalize tube layout, including placement of tie rods, seal bars, dummy tubes, etc.
• Ensure all drawings comply with ASME code, TEMA standards, and other relevant specifications
• Maintain and manage drafting hardware and software systems
• Validate that all drawings meet both code requirements and end-user specifications

Tools and Equipment Used

• Proficient in use of personal computer, 2D CAD software, tube layout/design software, and basic word processing tools
• Operate office equipment including laser printers, copiers, and handheld calculators
• Occasional hand-drawn drafting work requiring the use of drafting ink pens, pencils, templates, and compasses
• Must be able to use a tape measure and safely access the fabrication area when required
• Safety glasses or goggles must be worn at all times in the shop

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of drafting experience in a mechanical or industrial engineering setting
• Familiarity with ASME codes and TEMA standards required; experience with heat exchangers is a plus
• Proficient in 2D drafting
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
• Prior experience preparing Bills of Materials and managing technical documentation
