Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our team in Pryor, OK. The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control machines. This role requires reviewing setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions to meet precise production requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Write programs in the language of the machine’s controller and store programs on appropriate media.
• Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the correct cutting tools.
• Revise programs to eliminate errors and retest to ensure correct output.
• Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, and specifications to calculate dimensions, tooling, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Create instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and machine operation.
• Conduct trial runs or simulations to ensure machinery produces items meeting specifications.
• Modify existing programs to improve efficiency.
• Set up and operate CNC machines to cut, shape, or form metal workpieces to specification.
• Attach fixtures, position tool holders, and insert cutting tools according to setup instructions.
• Monitor operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance or minor repairs on machines.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist with training of new operators.
• Maintain accurate production records using the Job Tracker Program.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of CNC experience preferred.
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machines.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools and performing quality checks.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and part programs.
• Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, word processing, email, and database software.
• Proficiency with machine tools and precision measuring devices.
• Strong math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Required Skills:

• Attention to detail – thorough and accurate in completing tasks.
• Analytical thinking – logical approach to problem-solving.
• Mechanical knowledge – understanding machine designs, usage, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong reading comprehension for technical documentation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.+ as needed.
• Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
