Description
SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Coordinator for a client in the precision manufacturing industry located in Sparta, Michigan. This role is responsible for supporting daily production operations, coordinating workflow, and assisting with quality checks, training, and documentation. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and a collaborative mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and monitor job schedules to meet production goals and delivery timelines.
- Assign tasks to align with workload, staffing and master production schedules.
- Perform first and last piece inspections to verify part quality and compliance.
- Confirm calibration of measuring tools and equipment prior to use.
- Support operators by communicating expectations, troubleshooting issues, and promoting workflow efficiency.
- Ensure accurate job tracking, closure, and documentation within the ERP system, job cards, and shared digital platforms such as Google Drive.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and cross-training of production team members.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes (CAPA).
- Recommend and implement improvements in processes, layout, or procedures to enhance productivity.
- Maintain safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Communicate performance updates to leadership and HR as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and functional work areas.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Production Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production environment within the manufacturing sector is required.
- Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience including coaching and mentoring staff is required.
- Hands-on experience with cutting tools, machined parts, or precision components required.
- A demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, or similar operational excellence methodologies is highly preferred.
- Background in automotive, petroleum, wood products or medical manufacturing is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with blueprints and measurement tools is preferred.
- Strong organizational, mathematical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in the use of digital tools, including ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365 or equivalent) and shared drives.
- Must be physically able to bend, stretch, and move as required for production-related tasks.
